Wing Zone Earns Top Standing in Influential Rankings of U.S. Franchise Opportunities

January 9, 2004 - ATLANTA, Ga. - Wing Zone, one of the nation's fastest-growing takeout/delivery chains best noted for its 25 flavors of fresh, cooked-to-order Jumbo Buffalo chicken wings, announced today it has received a number of top rankings in three of the nation's most comprehensive and objective ratings of franchise opportunities.

Wing Zone earned a top spot in Entrepreneur Magazine's 25th Annual Franchise 500®, placing No. 11 in the Top 20 New Franchises. Wing Zone also placed 208 in the magazine's overall rankings of the top 500 franchise opportunities, which were published in the January 2004 issue.

Entrepreneur considers numerous objective, quantifiable measures of a franchise operation in its rankings, including financial strength and stability, growth rate and size of the system. It also considers the number of years in business and length of time franchising, start-up costs, litigation, percentage of terminations and whether the company provides financing. Every company with verifiable data (audited by an independent CPA firm) receives a cumulative score.

In addition to the Entrepreneur ranking, Wing Zone was also recently identified by FRANdata as one of the 50 fastest-growing U.S. franchises during the last five years. FRANdata is the nation's leading source of information and analysis on all aspects of the U.S. franchise industry, utilizing proprietary software to access data in more than 10,000 Uniform Franchise Offering Circulars (UFOCs). Franchise Times magazine will be listing these "Fast 55" companies who have started franchising in the past five years, including Wing Zone, in its March 2004 issue.

The company was also recently listed in the 2004 edition of "Bond's Top 100 Franchises: An In-Depth Analysis of Today's Top Franchise Opportunities," by Robert Bond. The book picks the best franchises from among the more than 2,300 available.

"We are pleased to once again be considered a leader in multiple categories in the franchise industry," said Stan Friedman, Executive Vice President for Wing Zone. "It's an exciting time for Wing Zone. We're franchising new territories and opening locations at phenomenal rates throughout the country. The rankings are the icing on the cake," said Friedman, who noted that Wing Zone took home the "Most Creative Sauce" Award at the 2003 National Buffalo Wing Festival, held in Buffalo, NY.
