Hired Gun: Wing Zone Recruits Chief Operating Officer to Compliment Growth Efforts

Delivery/Take-Out Chicken Wing Franchise Executes Plan to Increase Brand Presence in Existing Markets

Atlanta - Rather than backing down from growth initiatives in a down economy, Wing Zone, a 100-unit chicken wing delivery/take-out specialist and the nation’s authority of flavor and ambassadors of sauce, has implemented a plan to sustain its consistent growth, both with consumers and franchisees. Included in the plan was hired gun Casey McEwen, who joined the team as its Chief Operating Officer.

“We are progressing forward and experiencing results in our continued effort to increase Wing Zone’s brand presence nationwide,” said Matt Friedman, CEO/Founder of Wing Zone. “The addition of Casey McEwen to our team will create an immediate influence to our growth strategy. Additionally, as COO, he will continue to strengthen our ties with existing franchisees and build relationships with our future franchisee base.”

Prior to joining Wing Zone full-time, McEwen was a consultant to the chain, key in preparing Wing Zone for steady growth and a re-focused effort toward reaching elite franchisees: Multi-unit/multi-brand.

“There is no chain better positioned for continued growth in a down economic climate than Wing Zone,” McEwen said. “I am impressed with how far Wing Zone has come as a brand and extremely optimistic of where it will go not only in 2009, but sustained throughout the future.”

McEwen’s extensive career includes more than 20 years in the restaurant industry, both as a franchisor executive and franchisee. His focus and expertise will center on marketing and branding; financing; R&D; acquisitions; international expansion; and implementation of improved training and operational systems.

His resume is no stranger to positioning brands for sustained and stronger growth. Previously he held high-level executive positions with Arby’s, Mrs. Winner’s Chicken & Biscuits, Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken, Moe’s Southwest Grill and Waffle House. He also has dual concept and non-traditional venue experience with Del Taco, Sneaky Pete’s, Home Depot and convenience store.

In addition to his franchise experience, McEwen has implemented extensive marketing and advertising campaigns designed to couple franchise efforts.
